Which is, technically, what it’s intended for. With all the levels and ribbons an achievements, it seems nearly impossible for a player to not succeed at the game. Alas, there are many poor farmers out there in FarmVille, struggling to pay for their next crop because they were only just now able to buy their very first cabin. However, all is not lost for these farmers. There are a few methods and tricks that will teach you how to get ahead in FarmVille.

Mix It Up
When you’re trying to get ahead in FarmVille, crops will of course be your key to success. Mix up your crops a bit. Plant smartly and plan for when you’re going to be available to harvest them. Nothing will suck away your income faster than withered and dying crops. You may need to enlist the help of e-mail notifications in order to keep yourself on track. Alternate between crops with a high coin yield and a high experience points yield. This way you will consistently level up and consistently increase your coins.
It’s the Simple Things
When it comes to leveling up quickly, you’re going to want to look at items that will give you a high return on experience points. When it comes to purchasing decorations, if you have cash to spare, invest in hay bales. It seems incredibly simple, but coin-per-point? Hay bales actually give you the most bang for your virtual buck when it comes to racking up experience. Working this way will also get you a few ribbons a bit faster as well.
Just Say Neigh
Keep track of which animals are going to yield you the most per harvest. Horses and goats, for example, are a great investment, as they will give a high coin yield and only cost fifty coins to acquire. Remember, too, that with animals, they offer the advantage of never withering and simply staying ready for harvest until you harvest them.
The Feed Bag
Don’t forget to keep an eye on your Facebook feed and your friends’ feeds. Whenever your friends and neighbors are giving away something, you can easily grab it up. You can get coins for ribbon achievements from your friends as well.
Don’t Re-Gift – Sell!
Yes, we all need the help of our friends at some point or another and we will ask them to send us certain gifts. And other times? We get a whole lot of gifts that we can’t really do anything with. If we were to put them on our farm, they would take up space. So they sit, unused and unloved in our gift boxes. No more! Sell the gifts in your gift box if you aren’t going to use them. Why not? It will make you a tidy sum of coins that you didn’t have to do a thing for!
Toolbar Power
If you have Firefox or Internet Explorer, take advantage of the FarmVille toolbar. It is a simple, effective way to keep track of your crops. Never let another crop wither and die on your watch – know when to harvest and make those crops count. An added benefit of the toolbar is that it will give bonuses that can greatly help you along the way.
Be Neighborly
As you have probably discovered by now, having neighbors is essential to how to get ahead in FarmVille. The more neighbors you have, the easier it will be to unlock certain items and get things done around the farm. Don’t be afraid to reach out on fan pages, groups, or forums, to find some new neighbors. In this game, it takes a village to grow a farm!
Don’t Be a Hack
As said before, don’t use cheats that would involve you hacking into the game. Yes, it’s been said, but it needs to be said again. Hacking ruins the game for everyone, but especially for you. Why? Because you are then committing a violation of the terms of service. You could get into some serious trouble, not only with Zynga, but you could also lose your Facebook account. And you wouldn’t want to have to start over again, would you?
